Chapter 8 - Emigration
-
From Poverty by James Platt
The chapter on "emigration,"
starts by telling us how parents should educate their son. No mention
here in 1884 of any education being considered for a daughter. Parents
here were encouraged to try their best to equip their sons with
a good education, but if this fails to send them abroad! Hows that
for loving parents!
