healing beams. With others nothing but the mighty, windy storm can break down and subdue their fierce opposition, and by sweeping away all their prejudices, produce a calm. It was so with the Philippian gaoler, - one hour rudely thrusting them into the inner prison, and making their feet fast in the stocks, the next hour quickly releasing them, calling for mercy, washing their stripes, and setting refreshment, before them.
